SIte Supervisor
Mary Gwinn is the Site Supervisor at our Whitendale Infant/Toddler site.
Mary came to Family F.O.C.U.S. after a two year attempt at retirement. Mary found that she was not yet ready for retirement; she missed the chance to work with families, and children.
Mary has 30+ years of child care experience. She got started when her own three boys were too young for school; she ran a private home daycare. As the boys entered school she went to work for Visalia Unified as a second language aide for Kindergarteners. However, this was part time and left Mary with too much time on her hands. She then learned about Tulare County Head start and went to work there as an aide in 1991. Mary went back to school at night and received her A/S degree in child development from C.O.S.
While continuing to advance her academic career, she was a preschool teacher in Traver, Ca. Then when the county opened its first Infant/ Toddler Center, Mary was the first Infant Teacher. There she promoted to Asstant Supervisor and then moved to Tulare Adult School to run the teen parent program and Infant/Toddler Center. Mary was there for 11 years
Mary has three amazing adult sons and five beautiful grandchild, four girls and one boy ranging in age from 17 yrs to 7 yrs of age. In her spare time she loves swimming, hanging out with the family, and traveling
